Κατά την απονομή των βραβείων World Travel Awards που πραγματοποιήθηκε σε ειδική τελετή γκαλά, το Σάββατο, 8 Ιουνίου, στη Μαδέρα, πολυάριθμες ήταν οι διακρίσεις που απέσπασε η Ελλάδα.
Πιο συγκεκριμένα, σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο διακρίθηκαν έξι ξενοδοχεία, τα οποία πλέον φιγουράρουν ανάμεσα στα καλύτερα της Ευρώπης για το 2019, καθώς και η εταιρία διαχείρισης ξενοδοχείων HotelBrain και η Mideast Travel Worldwide.
Από τα βραβεία που απέσπασε η Ελλάδας, ξεχώρισε η διάκριση της Μάνης ως κορυφαίου προορισμού της ελληνικής ενδοχώρας, των Κυκλάδων ως κορυφαίου νησιωτικού προορισμού και των Χανίων ως κορυφαίου προορισμού εμπειριών επισκέπτη.
